Beginning at the San Cristóbal viewpoint with a panoramic view of the city, followed by the vibrant San Pedro Market to experience local culture. Continue to Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), the Inca foundation upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo stands, and walk through the bohemian streets of the San Blas neighborhood. Finally, pass by Hatun Rumiyoc Street to admire the famous Twelve Angles Stone and end at the Cusco Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas, home to famous colonial arts.
Day 3: June 3rd (Thursday) - Cusco
Discover the architectural and engineering legacy of the Inca Empire by visiting the four most emblematic archaeological sites located around the city. This tour will take you to explore the colossal fortress of Sacsayhuamán, famous for its gigantic perfectly fitted stone blocks; the mystical sanctuary of Q'enqo, carved from living rock; the defensive enclosure of Puka Pukara; and the ceremonial water enclosures of Tambomachay, where art and nature unite in homage to water.
Day 4: June 4th (Friday) - Cusco/Sacred Valley
Immerse yourself in the magical landscapes and deep ancestral heritage of the Sacred Valley of the Incas through a fascinating journey that connects archaeology, art, and the living traditions of the Andes. The tour begins at the imposing Archaeological Park of Pisac, famous for its impressive stepped agricultural terraces and stone constructions that defy the mountain's abysses, then descending to its colorful and traditional colonial village to appreciate its emblematic artisan market.
The route continues to the fascinating Ink Museum, a unique cultural space that showcases the history, clothing, and architecture of the great pre-Inca civilizations of ancient Peru through impressive museum halls. Finally, the journey takes us to the Yucay Living Culture Museum, a center dedicated to the revaluation of ancestral traditions, where you can appreciate the work of local artisans in textiles, ceramics, and millennia-old techniques that continue to pulse in the heart of the valley. Lunch (included) at a local restaurant.
***On June 4th (Friday), we will depart with a small suitcase/backpack with the essentials for only 2 nights. The main luggage will be securely stored at the Cusco hotel until our return. Only 5kg is allowed on the train.
Day 5: June 5th (Saturday) - Sacred Valley/Aguas Calientes
We continue to dive into the best-kept secrets of the Sacred Valley. The journey begins at the agricultural complex of the Moray Archaeological Zone, famous for its colossal concentric circular terraces that served as an advanced center for Inca botanical experimentation. Nearby, the landscape changes completely as you descend towards the stunning Salt Mines of Maras, an impressive mosaic of over three thousand artisanal salt wells that have been exploited since pre-Inca times under the Andean sun.
The journey continues to the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Site, an urban walled jewel where the original Inca layout remains intact among cobblestone alleys and monumental terraces that rise up the mountain. In the afternoon, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes,
entering the jungle to spend the night at the foot of the sacred citadel.
Day 6: June 6th (Sunday) - Aguas Calientes/Cusco (Machu Picchu)
We will start the morning with a transfer to the Ollantaytambo station to board the train to Aguas Calientes. This impressive and colossal citadel is one of the most important tourist attractions in Cusco. Hidden for 400 years by the mountains and tropical jungle, it was discovered in 1911 by American explorer Hiram Bingham. We will enter Machu Picchu, a center for worship and astronomical observation, as well as the private refuge of the Incas Pachacútecs, which consists of two large areas: one agricultural and the other urban, where temples, squares, and royal mausoleums built with exquisite perfection stand out.
Lunch (included) at Inkaterra Café. In the afternoon, return by train to Cusco.
Day 7: June 7th (Monday) - Cusco (Vinicunca - The Mountain of 7 Colors)
We will start the day very early with an exclusive private transfer to the south of Cusco, crossing picturesque high Andean valleys and local communities shrouded in morning mist. After a brief stop to recharge energy along the way, we will embark on a private high mountain hike accompanied by a specialist guide, personalized assistance, and a pace adapted to fully enjoy the journey until we reach the impressive 5,036 m above sea level.
There we will witness the majestic visual spectacle of the Mountain of 7 Colors, an impressive geological formation where the earth's minerals draw natural stripes of vivid tones, protected in the background by the imposing presence of the snow-covered Ausangate.
